Debbie Cousins's Journal, 05 May 2022

WOW! Nine days since I've posted anything or read any of the notifications (now up to 853)! I did just now read your comments to my last post, and thank you to everyone who took the time/energy to encourage me.

Weight was 260 yesterday morning. My knees have been killing me, and the ortho doctor says the main reason is "morbid obesity." Well, he didn't say that to my face, but he wrote it in the notes in my chart. He said that 95% of the time, when your knees hurt in the front like mine do, it is weight-related. Both my knee implants were fine as shown by xrays.

I have had ZERO motivation lately! I've done the dishes every couple of days, and we did get the pool opened, though it is still too cold to go in it. But, that's about it, productivity-wise. Oh, and I've kept up with my "atomic habits," but just with the bare minimum to meet the goal. Zero water, minimal walking, not even doing my Bible reading most days (though I was way ahead, so I'm not "behind" yet on my Bible-in-a-Year reading plan).

Not in a good place! No PLAN for what to do to change things. Very discouraging.

Ive been struggling with some things lately too. I have a basket of laundry (ok 2 baskets) that I need to get put away and then another on the way and I just cant seem to do such an easy thing. So I had to give myself some grace and say, ok- I dont have to put it all away but how about a few shirts and my socks? So I did that little bit and ended up doing more but not all. When it started feeling overwhelming - I stopped. It doesnt have to be all or nothing every time, sometimes it can be a little more than nothing. Youve got this - your habits are sticking and you know what to do! Also, I believe there are studies that say for every 1 pound you lose, that takes 4 pounds of pressure off your knees. So if you lose 10 pounds, thats like relieving 40 pounds of pressure. I think thats a good, manageable goal.

Hi Debbie u r not alone. If ur doctor had any compassion or intelligence he should have offered to help you not be a S…..Head. They kill me they are quick to point the finger and who gets it, we do. I have had same kind of sarcasm from my doctor. Personally he is arrogant do I just play along. I started on Nutrisystems 3 months ago Guess what I’ve lost. 3 pounds oh and I have been taking Golo. Keto and Exipure Lol all this money for nothing. So Debbie us girls have to stick together if we want to succeed. Hold your head up 👳🏻‍♀️look that pretty lady in the mirror 👩and say we are going to do this together. Hugs Clair E
