Holy Cow- what a fun night with my brothers in our backyard. Steak, gin and tonics, fireworks... and lots and lots of great food. I sure feel it today. I know that it's in my head, but I can feel my thighs growing after a night like that! I overdid it, for sure (167% of my RDI!) and today .... It's back on track. When I have a drink it lowers my resistance mightily. And, really, after months and months of being "good" I don't care. In fact, I deserve it.
I now that it is not healthy to classify "good" and "bad" behavior... that it's about making a life-long change... and, honestly, I don't know if I'll ever be able to get there.

Sounds like great fun you had! Good for you! I agree on the alcohol bit, it also puts my conscience off guard. But you deserve some 'letting go' especially if it's only just for a day. Re-feeding your body (and soul) really helps, the only rule is - no blaming :)

The words "life long change" seem to be the operative words in your journal post today. You know what to do. So - as Nike says - Just do it. Not so easy sometimes. I know. Have a great Saturday, Pal!

Oh yes, no one is perfect 100% of the time. A vacation from the restrictive eating really does help. It is hard if not impossible to resist temptation all the time, we all give in at some point---Just dont give up.
You said that you may never "make it". I feel the same way. It is mixed with fear of failure. I have had to set a very modest goal for myself. If I can lose only 5 more pounds I will feel successful. I have a lot more than that to lose, but the truth is We both are thinner than when we started. So feel Successful. I am sure you look great!
