What is it lately with me and journals on thursdays??

Well, I am finally back, and I am going to have to push myself to start journaling again. Being offline has made me journal lazy! I could never add a journal entry with my phone, for some unforseen reason, and I definitely couldn't do it with my kindle.
I wish I had taken some pics of me and my hubby perched in the corner of the front window's, trying to get a signal from my neighbors wifi..lol!! At least we got that situated, and now I'm back sitting on my not so comfy couch, with my trusty laptop!! At least this stupid couch is more comfortable than in the corner of those windows!!

OK, I'm going to try to get everyone up to speed with me, lol! Everything has been going well, and I was really being good during my small exile from the net. I was still watching what I ate, tried to drink more water, and get some exercise. Our car decided to go pffft on us at the beginning of the month.

With the way it was acting, common sense would tell you to get a new alternator.I won't bore you with the trip details, just that we ended up on the side of the interstate, with a somehow dead battery. We live in North central West Virginia, and we have Courtesy Trucks that patrol the interstates. Well, we had one roll up, gave us a jump, car started, and off we went. Until we hit the exit for the truckstop. We ended up calling a friend, and we managed to get the beast home, after several more stops and several more hours.

The hubs and neighbor went and got another one from Advance Auto. :/ They gave them the wrong one, and they had to go back, with the old one in hand. They bring home the "right" one, and put it on the car....ran good for 2 days. Dead again... OK, Back to the store, get a replacement, (they had to order it). Put that one on, and it ran for 5 days. Got stuck on Rt 50 in Clarksburg, ended up with a $90 tow home. (which is cheap here)
Get the dumb alternator checked, its toast. OK...get a replacement...have to wait because they had to order it. Get that one and put it on....damn car is still going haywire and burnt out another alternator. Now in all this mess, the battery is still good.
Hubby got a final replacement (so they think) and got stuck and had to have the car towed home, another $60. I had it towed to the Ford garage, and $110 later (fuming at that) they said, " your alternator is bad" Duh...ya think??

So, I asked my love if he told them it was a 24 valve DOHC. (double over head cam) and he said yep. Well, I went online, to see about the amperage of the stupid thing, and guess what,I checked their part, that was for a 2003 Taurus, not a 1999, and it was lower amperage than what we were supposed to have. The one we were supposed to have, was a little below the one they gave us the first time. If they would have paid attention, and looked and asked a few pertinent questions, we would not have had to go through all this crap!! An the one we were suppose to have was cheaper. I told the hubbs, to tell those guys to credit us with the difference, and be glad I wasn't there, because I would take it out of their backsides!! I think I'm still going to email the company.

In other news, I finally got my needed bump, and finally got below 230!!
lol, it took me going to have a colonoscopy to do it though!! Oh well! Everything is good there. They found 2 polyps, and took the big one, and left the tiny one. I have to go on the 30th for a post op checkup.
I also have an appointment with an oral surgeon on the 23rd. I hate to say it, but I'll have no choice in losing more weight, because I will be getting ALL my teeth out by this time next month. The Dentist I saw was the sweetest man, he looked like a little elf..lol! This guy is shorter than me..lol! He told me with the extent of bone loss, I have no choice, that they have to go, before I have nothing to put the dentures on...Ugh. I also have to go 4 months toothless (: At least he is kind enough to help out and let me make payments on the dentures. Those things gave me a heart attack!! $1400!!! Oh well, I have time to save up what I can, and then we will see what we need to get additional.

This is turning into one long journal for me!! If you are still reading this, bless you!! I hope everyone has been well, and doing good on your weight loss journeys. I haven't read back through everyones journals, and will try to catch up.

Take care everyone!!

Glad to see you back on the web! Sorry to hear about car troubles - had a similar experience where after my research I seemed to know more than the mechanics I was paying an arm and a leg. Cars are frustrating. Intellectually, I can research and figure out what to do, but physically I still need a mechanic with a garage to do the actual work. Courtesy Trucks?!? Why don't we have those here? Sounds awesome! I have AAA but sometimes it takes them a LONG time to show up if you need a tow. Congrats on your new loss!

MM, the courtesy trucks here just stop to see if you are alright, if you need a tow truck they will call one, or if you have called, most will stay with you till the tow gets there. They are equipped with really long jumper cables, water, I believe antifreeze, and a few other things. This is a full time job, 8 hour shifts I believe, and mostly for people that are looking for work and trying to get off of welfare. I heard there was a waiting list for that job too...lol!!

I'm spoiled in that department, my mom works at a local repair shop so whenever I have issues I just put on my cute face and holler mooooommmmmm. lol glad all is well now, car trouble is a pain in the ass. I wish we had courtesy trucks here too. Usually people just drive by and give you the finger. Not the friendliest place. :) happy to have you back
