Hi! My name is Lugene (Lu for short) and I have been battling my weight my whole life!! Weight problems run rampant in my family. I finally said enough when I hit 300 lbs. I'm only 5'5", so that made me kind of roly poly!! Besides, I do have other health issues, and losing the weight will help immensely! I have a target weight right now of 200lbs. But am shooting for 165 after that!!

Donna, go to your fat secret page, and on the right is a menu that has the heading My Toolbox. Click on the link that says signature. It will take you to a page that says My forum posts and signature. You should see below the edit box, a heading that says Add a weight loss ticker. Right under that is a little sub heading that says add a weight loss ticker to my signature. There is a little check box there. Just check that and you are good to go!!

Who diets on their birthday?
I just celebrated my (yes I'm gonna tell ya) 56th birthday on the 17th, I gave myself permission to eat anything I wanted, and to make sure I ate small portions of whatever it was. My husband took me to Olive Garden, an I ended up bringing half of my dinner home!!! All with the exception of the tiramisu!! Go ahead and enjoy yourself!! Get back to your regular diet the next day. I weighed myself after 2 days and didn't gain and didn't lose, and its all good!! I also agree with Bella and Rocker, give it away!! Happy Birthday and enjoy yourself!!

THE DANGER OF ASPARTAME AND ITS EFFECTS ON ANYONE THAT CONSUMES IT
[quote=onedaat]By the way, Stevia is marketed as a natural alternative to artificial sweeteners. That’s marketing talk. There is nothing natural about a processed super-sweet white powder like Stevia.[quote]

Try reading this onedaat: The truth about stevia
A primal primer: Stevia

I try to avoid artificial sweeteners. They are a synthetic, made from chemical compounds. There is very little natural about them. Maybe a few alcohol esters .. Even sucralose is artificially made. Stevia on the other hand is made from a plant. Yes, it is processed. You have to dry it and pulverize it to get the sweetness of it. It is not a synthetic chemical.

I use stevia in my morning coffee. Thats just about the extent of it. I may use it in some iced tea, instead of sugar.
I quit drinking diet soda a while ago. I also avoid anything with corn syrup or 'modified corn syrup' in it also.

I found like everyone else here, that it wasn't necessarily the sweetness of soda, but the carbonation itself. I started drinking seltzer water. It is nothing more than carbonated water. No additives, no sweeteners. I like to add a little lemon juice once in a while.

And I get Pepsi Throwback (made with sugar) as a treat. I never really had sweet cravings, only when my blood sugar crashed.....and that doesn't happen much anymore.

Replacement for sugar in oriental salad dressing recipe
You can always try Stevia. I try to avoid splenda and equal, etc. They are chemicals that really aren't good for you. Stevia is a plant extract and is really quite good, in my opinion. 0 calories too!! I use Stevia in the Raw. You can use it spoon for spoon like regular sugar.
