Today at the gym, a woman came up to me.
"Do you work out every morning?" she asked. "Yeah. At least, I try. Last week I didn't come in twice, though." "And you wear those blue shorts, right?" "Yeah," which isn't completely true. I have three different work out outfits, but I didn't need to tell her that. "You look great!"
This took me by surprise. I was anticipating a question on motivation rather than a comment on my size.
"How much weight have you lost?"
It was very gratifying to have a complete stranger recognize my weight loss efforts. Truthfully, I can only tell by trying on pants and the scale. I never see my weight loss in myself. I think I'll need to lose drastic amounts (maybe 50 pounds or so) before I can even begin to recognize that I way less when I look in the mirror.
This was even more gratifying since I haven't been losing weight this week, which has been frustrating.
