Revaudrey's Journal, 04 May 2014

I had a good day yesterday after beating myself up for celebrating in New York after my 100 Day challenge.

I'm trying to set some new parameters for myself, now, since maintenance is always where I FAIL big time.
For starters, when I start deciding not to log my food... that's a problem.

I'm just not good at intuitive eating. I need rules. I don't think I'll EVER be good at intuitive eating.

And so... I'm back to the "Sunday is a Feast Day" mentality... though with some more guidelines than in the past. In the past, I 'd eat anything I wanted on Sundays including a big dessert and at least one cocktail.
I'm trying in this new approach, to still eat sensibly and still allow myself a glass of wine and dessert.

So, tonight, I had 2 oven baked chicken tenders, a big salad with lite dressing, a big helping of plain steamed asparagus, a small glass of wine and a nice helping ( not too huge) of plain cake ( no icing) and some gelato. It was... reasonable... not piggy. (I did not have any of the creamy mac and cheese with peas that I made for the rest of the family. I was looking ahead to dessert...)

I'm also trying to notice how my body feels. ( Something which usually eludes me.) And so, a small glass of wine made no difference in how I feel, but tasted delicious (!) and the cake and gelato? Well... I have a tummy ache. And it wasn't even huge. I'm just not used to eating these things anymore.

I'm actually looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow... and knowing that next Sunday I can choose another dessert and wine.

I feel SO MUCH BETTER when I eat well. REMEMBER THAT. REMEMBER THAT, REMEMBER THAT, Audrey.

I also went on a nice 50 minute bike ride when I got home from work today. It was good!
