BeckyC86's Journal, 22 April 2014

A year and a half ago I had a great run of weight loss, losing 35 lbs. I didn't reach my goal, but plateaued and maintained for about 6 months, before beginning to slowly creep back up. I stopped seeing my trainer and am too embarrassed to call after abandoning him with no notice. I suffered a bit of depression this winter and really packed on the pounds. I'm back where I started from the first time (206) and am getting married in 3 months. I REALLY want to get healthy and toned, if not skinny, by then. Today is my first day back in the game. Goal: calorie counting (I NEED the structure) and re-joining a gym-TODAY. Shall see how it goes!

Hi Becky, I understand where you are coming from because I been there. Our stories are similar in every way. Yesterday was my first day, and all I can think about today is failing again. The mental part of weight loss is also a journey is difficult for me. I am a emotional eater. I even eat when I am full. I have to keep redirecting my thoughts, and telling myself that I can take this one day at a time, or one hour at a time if I need to. It sucks starting over again. However, its foolish for me to keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. I know that if I remain down this path, I will continue to gain more weight and I will be miserable. We can do this. Our life, health, and happiness depends on it. You are not by yourself and you can do it!

Good luck on your journey and congrats on the upcoming wedding. I've had great success with watching my calories, especially when I make sure to maintain the golden ratio of carbs to protein to fat and am excited to have started doing so, myself, again.
