I made about 10 of them 2 days ago. I have one more left after this. They were so good but definitely not diet food hahahaha 😆

I love tamales. Someday I’m going to make some.— maybe. A lot of work for one person.

Is that made from a corn husk? Seriously, I’ve heard of tamales but I have never seen any. Maybe you just eat the insides?

Mmmm, reminds me of my birthday. I always have them on my birthday with a Corona.

one of my favorite foods I actually made some last year it wasn't as hard as I thought it would have been that looks so good but since I haven't lost a pound in 7 days I'm going to have to pass:-(

I want to try some fresh tamales. I can't find them here, even the restaurants don't sell them. It's on my bucket list next time I go to Arizona...

Sarah, it's made from masa flour (corn flour) and put inside of corn husks to steam and serve. The fillings vary from region to region, but I just used whatever I had on hand like chicken, poblano peppers, onion, spices, etc

Redrita— It’s not always any one individual food or meal that is “unhealthy”, it’s also about the serving size and the frequency.

Oh I'm judging you. 💯%. But that's cuz I'm jealous. You enjoy that gorgeous tamale 🤤

Redrita, to expand on what Kenna said, I think it’s a about balance. Yes it’s ‘unhealthy’ but too much of any one thing can be considered unhealthy. Zero fat diets are unhealthy (our bodies need some fat to survive and thrive but not much). Zero carb diets are unhealthy (veggies have carbs). Finding a balance that works for each individual is what works I think. Balancing the healthier foods with some unhealthier foods; always making sure the ‘good’ foods are the biggest part of our diet to maintain optimal health and nutrition. It doesn’t sound like you, the OP or any commenters chow down on this regularly so it’s all good :).
