Kris AZ's Journal, 20 March 2014

I was talking on the phone to one of my nephews and he told me his grandmother, my MIL, said they are going to play a cool trick on everyone for April Fool's Day. They are going to make brownies with something in them to make them go to the bathroom. She told him it was ok because it wouldn't hurt anyone and it was a secret but since l live so far away he felt it was ok to tell me. He begged me not to tell anyone so they will all be surprised, but with every abusive childhood story my husband has told me, I had to tell my SIL.

I will never understand why anyone would think its ok to tell a child its ok to put medicine in food for others to eat. I'm just sitting here dumbfounded.

wow, I'm surprised someone old enough to be a child's grandmother would be that foolish and insensitive. I'm really concerned about the example being given this poor child by a 'responsible' person in his life

That is pretty sick. I hope your SIL does not leave the kids alone in that environment.

This really gives a very wrong message to the child . Definitely foolish and irresponsible .What she doesn't realise that one day the child may play the same trick on her thinking it ok . God knows what will happen to her at this age when she will have to go to the washroom again and again . You should definitely stop this and you too stay away from her

She’s 66 and lives on the other side of the country from us. She hasn't come to visit and if she does my husband says she is not allowed in the house. Everybody else seems to have forgotten the abuse she put them through, but after hearing it and seeing the effects in my husband I don't speak to her if we are ever close.
