Had another topsy turvy weekend, and even so, I'm down to 244!! Yay!!

We were invited to the hubbies best friends home this weekend for their annual early Thanksgiving dinner. They have a big dinner usually a week before, and then have a small dinner at home. They usually spend Thanksgiving day at his moms.

It was a really nice day. LOTS of food, and goodies. His MIL and wife were sweet and kept telling me how good I looked, and how proud of me they were on my weight loss. It was so nice to hear!! But then, there is their one friend, whom I don't care for. She kind of smirked, and said it was way too much effort, only to have it come back plus more. Hmm....how to gracefully put her in her place.....oh well crap, I wasn't graceful!! I just told her that just because she didn't know how to properly maintain her weight , didn't mean I didn't know either!! I told her It wasn't all that hard to lose, and it was worth the effort to exercise, and really worth the whole change in eating. I even said that while eating a small slice of Pecan pie!! I told her I didn't deny myself anything and I just learned and am learning a whole new healthier way of eating!!! And I also told her that is why she weighs what she does and I weigh what I do, because I think it IS worth the effort!! Then I gracefully walked away still munching on my pie!!

Other than that little tiff of a sort, we had a really great time, and I discussed with the wife and her mom and best friend what I was doing and about FS! I even got a goody box to bring home, and we had some of that for supper last night. I just might have a little for my lunch today!! Her turkey and broth were delicious! She gave me a quart of broth to bring home, and I made gravy with it. MMMM!!!

Been feeling a little lonely here today. I know I can always rely on my FS friends here to perk me up and make me laugh, but sometimes its nice to have a rl friend around. I was so looking forward to my niece moving here. It would have been nice to have someone to go shopping with, and to go to the gym with. and to just sit and bs and have coffee with!!! I do have friends here, its just they are more or less "fair weather" friends. Its fine if they invite me to go somewhere or do something for them, but when I ask them to just drop by, or stop over for some coffee and conversation, they have more important things to do, or they are just way too busy to stop. Eh, their loss!!

Sorry for the little rants, but I do feel a little better!! I hope everyone had a great weekend and having a good Monday! Keep up the great work on your journeys!!

Lu =^.^=

ps... the kid showed up on Saturday to cut down the one pine tree. I'm loving the light I'm getting though that window now!! :-)

Great job on the loss, Lu! I also don't have any close, real friends who live near me (aside from my husband). I don't think my best girlfriend has been to my house in two years. I've maybe only met up with her one time in the last year for lunch. We live about an hour and a half away from one another. She bought a new house and I haven't even visited her. It is sad how busy we get with our own lives. Not intentional at all. But your journal reminds me why I should make more time to visit my real friends. Thank you.

You're welcome 2MC. Glad I could help out! One of my best friends lives about the same distance away. It takes about an hour and a half to get "back home" Its about an hour now, they finished the toll road this year, so its even easier to get there. My other best friend lives in Cleveland, and that is about a 5 hour drive. I just wish sometimes we could visit like we used to.

Yikes. I think your fair weather friends and weirdo commentators need to get together with my FWFWC's and go fly a kite or take a long walk on a short pier or something, LOL ;-) You're doing great and good on you for having a small slice of pie rather than 100lbs of green beans just to avoid the pie (something I used to do).

Sometimes, handling someone like that takes a little tough love. She probably went home thinking.

Hmmm, what has more calories, 500 calories of pecan pie or 500 calories of carrots? :) Just had same conversation with GF yesterday- she "cheated" and had a candy bar for 140 calories and felt guilty about it. I told her 1) as long as you're not living on them, and 2) just chop 140 calories of something else that day and you're fine. Congrats on the continued weight loss - glad we're on the same team! :)
