Monday weigh in....251.4. Down another pound!

I'm getting excited about the new challenge I joined. Lose 10 pounds by Thanksgiving. That sounds so good and so very doable!! My weight today will be my starting weight. Easy peasy to track!

I didn't go to the gym today, I was feeling a little yucky. I know what the problem is, and have been working today to rectify that. I just haven't been drinking enough water!! My back and sides were a little achy when I went to bed. It is a familiar ache. So, I have my liter aluminum water bottle at my side today. I will have it by me for a while. I knew that I wasn't drinking enough water, but it had to take getting that oh so familiar ache to let me know that I needed to get o the ball!! I had other little indicators, but like most people, I just ignored it!!! Sheesh, why does it take getting hit over the head before I say, oh oh,,better take care of this...???

I'm going to try to see how I"m feeling later, and may just strap on those leg weights and do some exercises to make up for not going to the gym. I need to push myself to do those every day anyway!!
I need to think about what to make for supper too....just may have soup again tonight. I made some in the crock pot yesterday, and just ended up calculating my calories with a generic chicken soup. I just get a little tired sometimes, trying to figure out the recipe, adding it to my personal cook book here, and then figuring out the portions it makes. I just took the easy way yesterday.

Taking the easy way is something we seem to be ingrained with as we grow up. Doing things the easy way. There is always the "easy" way to do things. Some times it is much better to do it the hard way. Like trying to lose weight. You just can't, in my opinion, get the best, and lasting results, doing it the "easy" way. It takes commitment, and hard work to get where you want to be. And that hard work, it is only as hard if you make it hard!! If you are ready to make the commitment to losing weight, and you have your mind set to those ends, then what is hard about it??I think it is the exercise that gets to most people. They just want to lose the weight by tomorrow without having to exercise or control their eating!! To me, once I got honest with myself, this has been easy. Yes, there are days that I really want to eat a big piece of cake, or eat a few candy bars, but that is the hard part. Saying no to yourself, reminding yourself that you can't go hog wild and eat everything in sight. I silence that little demon by allowing myself a little piece of cake, and one small candy bar, or piece of pie. I take my time and savor every bite!! Then the little devil shuts up and my craving is gone!! Not hard to me at all!!

It is all about changing your food attitudes. Taking your time to actually taste a food goes a long way to helping smash those binges!! It takes your stomach 20 minutes to register that its full. Put your spoon or fork down after every bite. Make sure that you completely chew that bite and when its gone, take another. Take some time to taste what your eating. Play a game an try to identify the ingredients. I bet when you do that, and really take the time to eat, you will find that you get satisfied, and eat less! Another surprise you may get eating slowly and thoughtfully, you may find out that something you thought you liked, you may not like at all!!

I had a good weekend, even if my car wanted to take a day off! I hope everyone else had a great weekend. I'm going to have a good week, and good food, good friends and good weight loss!!

Have a great Monday everyone!!!

I joined that challenge too....My weight loss has slowed down, and I know it's the fact I have been slacking on my exercise and I'm losing my zeal for tracking every single calorie...plus a few slips. Sigh. I am really hoping the new challenge helps get me back on track.

Congratulations Lu! You are doing wonderful. I took last night off running too. I just felt chilled all day and evening. Maybe that was just my body telling me that I needed to rest. I haven't joined that challenge, but I have joined other challenges. I'm liking them. I find they keep me accountable.

It's been going around. Lots of people I know are getting the flu. I sure hope it doesn't hit any of us. We need to keep ourselves together. You're doing so good, Lu. I love all the things you've said here. We need to keep at it but if we have that yearning for something, we need to take care of it....even if it's just a taste of something. Thanks for the tips. Take care!
