We bought some protein powder at GMC yesterday, and I'm a little miffed...
The hubs wanted me to try it to see how I liked it. It's not bad, really. I'm glad that it was a little bag, and not one of those huge containers. I sat down and read the ingredients. What did I see??? Sucralose.
Dang it!! I have gotten rid of everything possible in the house that has any artificial sweeteners in it. I checked the empty bottle of Total Lean too. Yup...got sucralose in it too.

I spent a good two hours last night researching and searching for a good protein powder that has no artificial sweeteners. It comes down to getting the Jay Robb brand of powder. Pretty clean product, and has some interesting flavors!! Its going to be a little on the pricey side, but it will be worth it in the long run. I'm using the shakes as a part of my lunch, and I may use it as a snack in the evening too.

The carbs I have been getting are to me good carbs, as they come from vegetables and fruits, and not from starches and refined sugar. These shakes will give me that protein boost I need. They won't be a permanent part of my diet, or maintenance diet. I just need to start building and strengthening my muscles. That was a big part of my back and hip problems. Really weak and bad muscle tone!!

I am headed off to the store again, this time to get the hubs his lunch stuff, and some other things for me. Like a kitchen mallet!! I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far!! The sun is shining today, and its a balmy 63 degrees!! Have a wonderful Sunday!!

I bought this protein powder, all natural from GNC but had to order online. It's called Only Protein. Made in New Zealand. 10 g of carbs per serving. It is satisfying but tastes a little odd. Let me know how you like the Jay Robb product.
