PostPregHope's Journal, 14 September 2013

I'm 19 months postpartum, and finally a little motivated to shed the pregnancy pounds.
When I first went to the doc for prenatal check ups, I was about 170. I was just out of high school and trying to get back down to 160...the weight I was in my hay-day of dancing. When they told me that I shouldn't lose weight while pregnant, I slipped into depression. I more I gained weight, the more the docs were happy, and the more I felt like crap. I ended up gaining 50 lbs...on top of the mystery 10lbs I had gained during high school.
So my weight loss goal is 60lbs, to bring me back to 160. I just weighed in and found that I've lost 5lbs. I've been watching my carbs and fitness. I've swapped out a couple food/beverage items that were a problem and I've so far seen results.
I will have another weigh in in a couple weeks (I don't have a scale...so I depend on my doc visits), and we'll see how my new changes have worked for me.

I just joined two challenges on here, too. The sweet tooth challenge and the 5:2 fast challenge. Sunday and Wednesday are my fast days...which means I start tomorrow. Tomorrow there's a family football party at my aunt's house. I think my plan of attack for the plethora of pizza/pop/processed items is to not have breakfast, that way I can eat with my family without being a buzzkill. I'll just stick with one slice of pizza instead of my usual 4-6, eat no chips, and drink water instead of soda. :) I'm excited! Wish me luck.
