Good Morning all recorders.
Hope you all had a good weekend are ready to start tracking food intake and excercise. I had a good exercise weekend, did a 65 mile bike ride. Averaged just 16 mph so it should have been a fat burning ride. Did not do as well at eating. On Saturday ate at a Chinese buffet. It could have been worse but I consumed far too many total calories and way too much sodium dipping my sushi. Today I'll try to jot down what I eat during the day then record here. Another title to recommend to people is Michael Pollan's In Defense of Food. I'm going to try to follow his general advice:"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
Here's a link to a NY Times article by him. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/28/magazine/28nutritionism.t.html?ref=magazine
He makes so much sense. We've gotten so away from eating "real" food. Fresh fruits and vegetables are trumped by boxes and packages. Count your ingredients he says, if there are more than five it's probably not so good for you.
