crabby Kat's Journal, 23 January 2013

I'm so glad I went to Zumba today, ignoring the dire warnings of freezing rain all over all kinds of media; none of the freezing rain came close to me, though it did a little nearby. More out towards the airport, where I'm going at 8:30 tonight, but it should have warmed up enough to be ok; if not, I have AAA. :o)

Gina was awesome in Zumba today, having us try new stuff, amping us up to do our best while totally loving it. The room was packed, sweating bodies full of positive energy. Wow!

Gina comes out into the room, among us to see how we're all doing, help us with the steps, etc. I was squeezed in from both sides of my usually spot in the middle of the room by people that came into class late. Gina came up the middle of the room from behind just as we did a arm sweeping move back, & I managed to smack her in the face with my sweaty hand. Urk! I was so embarrassed I tripped & fell back into the woman behind me, who also laughed it off, like Gina did. We all kept dancing.

I went up after class & apologized to Gina for smacking her, and she said "That's OK, you more than made up for it by...and I missed what she said, hopefully something about my obvious love for Zumba and sexy moves and keeping going even when I mess up....and then my mouth ran away from me.

I told her that I got the Wii Zumba Core game for Christmas & had just started using it, and could we do Paris (one of the song/routines on the game that she does), that I was thinking about doing (insert a sexy stepping motion from the dance) if she called me out in the middle one day, but only after I practiced a few more times. She said "Sure, we'll do it next week". Urk!

I came home & turned on my Wii Zumba Core game, practiced Paris, & realized some of the moves are hard for me with my knees. I guess I better spend the week practicing it with a gentle adaption for my knees! Gotta rein in that mouth of mine! Actually, I love doing Zumba and don't mind rearranging the furniture so I can do it in the living room.

I'm so happy that my partner comes home tonight that I don't even mind going to the airport at 8:30 at night over possible slippery roads. I baked a fresh loaf of bread, there are nice fresh banana nut muffins, and I plan on making a Moroccan Chicken Stew tomorrow. There's plenty of healthy food in the house (though I ate most of the veggies!)and plenty of filtered water to drink, as well as lots of DVR-ed shows to catch up on. My partner took tomorrow off work, and will need to take it easy; the trip from Costa Rica took all day; left at 4 am to go to airport, flew to Houston, was there for hours, and is on the last 5 hour leg of the journey.

It's been a good day. A good life.

Kathy sometimes I have to remind myself to take a nap before I read your journals - all that activity wipes me out! You are one amazing power dynamo! I wanna come to your house for dinner and dvds! or dvrs... sorry. So other than just filling the feeders and waiting patiently ... should I do something else? I finally got MH (in a weak moment) to consent to birdfeeders and here I am $$$ for feeders & food and no feathered friends. I feel like I got all dressed up for the ball and no one will ask me to dance. Or Zumba. Or Wii. So are you going to post a video for us of you doing your breakout demo next time?

Well, you could research what birds in your area like to eat & stock the feeders with it. I just use plain raw shelled sunflower seeds from the bulk bins at a less expensive grocery store; all the birds love them; squirrels too. Once a bird or two finds them, you will have to fill your feeders often. Word gets out; "if you fill it, they will come"! Ha ha on the video; I'd hate for that mishap in class to go viral on youtube! Dinner tomorrow is home made chicken veggie barley soup, slice of home made bread optional. Bella, come on over. Which shows do you want to watch? We have Netflix too. :o)

LOL - love Netflix - cheap instant gratification and as I rarely get to control the remote while MH is awake there's there's always something new (for me) when I do. There won't be any mishaps ~ you're gonna put the rocket's to shame, I'm sure!
