I've figured out a few things that work against me in this arena. They include boredom/inactivity, i.e. sitting on my ass, and activities preventing me from my usual routine. I think it decreases me resolve and I give in to temptation more easily. At least working my butt off helps offset these things!
Did some cleaning last night and discovered some chips and sunflower seeds, then gave in to some office breakroom snackies today. Seems like I need to come up with a creative way to deal with the salty, crunchy, and sweets cravings... perhaps 100% cacao covered almonds? Homemade potato crisps? Any ideas?

Hmmm...you are doing lower carb, right? Trader Joe's Teriyaki turkey jerky is chewy and sort of salty but not naccho cheese Doritos! You could take your low carb tortillas, cut the in little triangles, sprinkle with garlic powder/any seasonings and bake in the oven until crisp! Thsat may taste crunchy and salty.

Hmmmm I'm liking these ideas!

Instead of candy bars, I like Trader Joe's Fiberful Rolled Oats and Peanut Butter. 130 cal, 9 g fiber. For salty, I like tossing baby kale with a small amount of olive oil and salt and baking at 325 for about 10 minutes. Instead of ice cream, Greek yogurt with a touch of honey. Instead of super-carby fries, a baked sweet potato with a touch of butter and cinnamon sugar. I like HCB's tortilla ideas for chips. I also blend cream cheese, garlic, onion, tabasco and lemon juice with herbs in a food processor and use that dip with pea pods or carrots.

How about making some fresh guacamole and then eating it up with some fresh veggies. The richness of guacamole more than compensates for the inherent ho-hum factor of the raw veggies. Kale chips can be yummy, and can be spiced up, but I find they taste best right away...for me, they get soggy if they sit too long.

One more thing...check out the bulletproofexecutive.com, and search for "Get Some Ice Cream"...low carb, loaded with the good fats, and supposed to be out of this world. Just got all the ingredients to make it, have to get the ice cream maker in the freezer!

Re: habanero bbq almonds.... YUCK!!!! :P I hate spicy things.. but I'm guessing Clifford would love them. I'm more partial to the cinnamon roasted almonds.. yum.. I'm with Heidi on the greek yogurt - the raspberry Oikos flavor is SOO good!

Erika, they really aren't that spicey for being called "habanero", about as spicey as the spicey doritos (can't remember the last time I had any doritos!).
The cinnamon almonds are delicious... tastes like cinnamon toast crunch cereal!!

AGREE on the Habanero Almonds. They are the best! Tried my first salt & vinegar ones just last week. Good too!

I love the wasabi almonds!

The wasabi ones are great too! Didn't care for the salt & vinegar ones though.
Been eating plain almonds to reduce my sugar intake. One of the days I wanna make my own seasoned almonds.

To satisfy my salt & crunchy cravings I eat pistachios (in the shell). I think it's the busy work of actually shelling them that also gives my tongue and stomach time to savor the flavor. If I'm also craving sweet, I either toss in a square of dark chocolate (at least 65% cocoa or more) with the pistachios or eat the chocolate with some mixed berries.

try: unsalted trail mix, beef jerky, dark chocolate, fruits.
To lose weight, I avoid wheat, rice & potatoes (once in a while I will have a sweet potato). Forces my liver to metabolize protein and fats
