Today is Day 2 of my drive from CA to NC with my cat. Yesterday we made it from San Diego to Albuquerque in about 12 hours. She's not a bad travel buddy - she does a lot of sleeping!
We came across Arizona yesterday, it was 117 degrees in Phoenix. I can't imagine dealing with that kind of heat on a regular basis. However, when we stopped later and it was 94 it felt very cool in comparison! Arizona is a beautiful place though. In the span of less than 100 miles we went from 117 in Phoenix to 61 degrees in the mountains after a thunderstorm. Crazy!
For dinner last night I stopped in Gallup, NM at a little place called Jerry's Cafe. It is a fantastic little diner that serves some of the best New Mexico Mexican food I've ever had (and I've had a lot lol). If you're ever in Gallup do yourself a favor and stop in. It's worth a little detour off the interstate for a place that is the real deal!
Today we are heading for Little Rock!
