took a screenshot of google maps, dropped it windows paint program, cropped it, saves it as a jpeg and uploaded it to FS

Nice trick. I usually use google maps. Note the milage and put in exercise log. But your way much better.

You could use map my hike app. I use it every where and it's very accurate with mapping

A great site for this is www.plotaroute.com. It computes the miles including "hills"; you can use it for walking, hiking, running, bicycling, horse and motorcycles! I love this site.
