Happy Mother's Day to anyone out there who has every nurtured and cared for someone. :)
As usual, I was the first one up and I had to patiently wait for the sleepyheads to stir. My boys made breakfast for me, a decadent concoction called a Slinger (think of a normal breakfast and then cover it is chili and cheese). This is food from my misspent youth in St. Louis and it was delicious! (although I was a little disturbed when I tallied up the calories. Probably a good thing that most folks in CA do not know what a slinger is.)
I am going to make them go on a Mother's Day hike with me in a little bit, but for now I am enjoying just lounging in my PJs. Have a great day!

Izzy hope you had a good day. Also have never had a slinger. what do you mean by a normal breakfast? Cereal covered in chili doesn't sound good. I'm thinking you are meaning eggs of some or pancakes.

Although there are variations, your basic slinger consists of eggs (usually over easy, but can be cooked however you like), hash browns, and a sausage patty, cooked as one normal would prepare them. Plate it up and then ladle some chili over it and sprinkle some cheddar on top. (Some people also put onions on top, but I am not a raw onion fan). So, "normal breakfast" perhaps is not an accurate description--normal diner breakfast, maybe? :)
