I really think the exercise numbers are way off. I try to be very meticulous about keeping track of my meal and exercise data.
As it is, I am not even putting in the actual hours of standing and walking I do per day. I reduce it drastically and I also augment my meals as well. If I put in the actual amount, according to the figures I am given, I should be losing 1pd a day.
I am not so concerned about the fact that I am not losing as fast as the figures would suggest, as I am by the fact that my confidence in the figures is nil, because it does not seem to represent the facts. Any thoughts on this?

I've noticed identical thing to what you are describing. I've been doing 500 cal a day on my exercise bike, have a running calorie deficit always of at least 6 or 700 and I'm not losing anything hardly either. not even -- its been almost two weeks. I feel much better, I have been "meticulous" also. Clothes feel better, not tight now, but no real weight loss. Hmmm. Not discouraged, just not sure whats going on.

The figures on FatSecret over estimate

agree. Calories they give on a day to eat are too high.

Okay, by extension then, are the estimates for calories burned for various activities too high then. I mean really, 200 calories burned for sitting in front of the tv for an hour? It takes 1.5 hours to burn off 500 cal on bike machine, so do I get to combine those two calorie expenditures for biking during a movie???? I didn't think so. Anyhow, or me, I consistently stay way below the FS RDI, but maybe, my hidden weight loss is due to inaccurate scales and??

I count activities of daily living.

I make my own RDI

I think the estimates for some aerobic activity is off. For instance, when I put in a half hour on the elliptical FS gives me over 300 cal but my machine only shows about 120 cals. Probably a heart monitor strap would give a more accurate read out as far as calorie expenditure.

I agree with the others. FS and most other web sites intake as well as calories burned estimates are way off but better than nothing. You are going to have to determine what numbers work for you based on the numbers you log. Log everything you put in your mouth and err on the side of over estimating your food intake. An activity tracker may be your best way to estimate calories burned...
