Yesterday I went out with my husband, we needed a day out. We went for a drive and found a new place to eat. I had a crab cake (it wasnt really a cake it just just a big pile of crab meat) no fillers it was wonderful on an asian broccoli slaw. So there was probably a little sugar in the dressing but there wasnt a lot of dressing, I also had a small side of regular coleslaw, so it wasnt perfect but not bad.

Evening I cooked some shimp in butter and garlic on the stove and had a little salad (lettuce leaf, slice of onion and four slices of cucumber), I thought that wasnt too bad.

I had a fat bomb coffee too.

I find today the scales I saying I put on weight. LOL I've got to stick at this.

This morning I used whole milk I'd bought (thinking self - gotta be ok, milk is fat isnt it, might be nice in my hot tea - wrong its got heaps of sugar in it since when does milk have sugar in it and carbs lol, so I cant keep using that). OK any buddies reading this, whats a good way to kick start yourself into ketosis, what do you do for a few days, eat nothing but bullet proof coffee? and some fat bombs? Any suggestions greatly appreciated, today I had scrambled eggs (in butter) and 8 slices of bacon. Feel completely full.
Thanks for listening :-)

Leslycat I would incorporate cardio workout to help offset the increased caloric intake. Something strenuous in the AM and another 30 minute walk or other low impact option in the PM (30 minutes of dance to your favorite tunes?) Had breakfast out this morning; ordered "smart" french toast. Now I can't eat anything for the rest of the day!! Guess its poached eggs from now on. I do plan on getting in 30 minutes of cardio and some weight training. Hurray for FatSecret, which allows us to figure out the results of our food choices.

The key to getting your body into ketosis is keeping your carbs low. The Atkins diets used to specify less than 20 grams of carbs a day for 2 weeks to get it started. Carefully monitor your carb intake. Wishing you lots of success with it!

I've just started using "whipping cream" (not whipped cream!) in my morning coffee. It's VERY low carbs and almost all fat.
