auroraioanid's Journal, 01 February 2017

Here we are. It is February. It is almost like I dread the progression of winter...because I had promised myself I will come out of it much thinner..
Second day at the same 227, 2 up since Monday, and I cannot tell what is it I am doing wrong. I do not think I am eating too many cals (1300/er day, at my height 5'9"). I am on track with carbs...under 20.
Could it be a plateau? I just started though, on January 5...Lost 13 since, and now I am getting stuck, and this is a moment when I lose confidence and patience...
A successful Wednesday to all.

I'd suggest weighing once a week. This is the only way I can do it as it removes all the stresses and strains of the micro ups and downs. Trust in the process. If you are doing things right, it will work. Some weeks you will lose only 1 pound and other weeks you might lose much more. It works...just let it work and you will be very happy.

I would maybe drop the nuts, eat a protein and lower carb veggies for meal and see how it goes

I would probably drop the Atkins bar before I dropped the nuts. Some people can not handle the Atkins products for some reason and stall.

Look at your diet. If you are low carb, then you have to have sufficient fat to burn. You either burn carbs or fat. If you deprive yourself of both, you can't lose the weight.I agree about dropping Atkins products.

The initial weight loss on LCHF is extreme and, sorry to say, mostly water. While it's thrilling to see the scale drop that dramatically, it will slow down. Your continuing weight loss will be slower, but it will be fat. Stick with it, this is not a quick fix. Slow and steady wins the race. Whatever you do, don't cheat or you will regain that water loss and need to start over.

If it's an "honest" 1300 cals hold course, it will come off. I'd up my workout an additional 100 cals.

75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs are a good measure. Make sure that you're eating enough fat. You can eat more calories with these ratios. Otherwise at 1300 calories a day it will come off - soon(ish)

I'm with Minitata on the ratio's. Eat more good fat! When I hit a plateau, I ate some homemade whipped cream and started losing again.

Your ratios look pretty good...eat "real" food, medium protein, high fat, low carb veggies...

It is not uncommon for your loss to stall out after losing 13 pounds. It is your body trying to hang onto what has now and not losing any more. This has happened to me. If you persevere and stay with what you are doing you will start losing again.

Thank you so much, everyone. I really appreciate your thoughts. Your comments make me feel much better. I guess, what I have to train is my patience, and yes, RCKC I know nuts are not on the list of induction, I will try a piece of meat instead (I am only concerned about the fiber)... and yes, butter and more butter :-) Love that part :-) Have a wonderful Thursdays,my friends, and thank you for brightening my day. :-)
