Hey guys!

Logging has been a pain recently, but I'm working on making it a part of my daily routine again. Other new habits I'm starting include spending time in the gym (rather than just saying I'm going! lol).

My current routine (and it's holding pretty well so far) is that I wake up at 7am Monday, Wednesday, Friday, then go work out in the campus gym until 8:20-8:30. Afterwards, I hop into the shower and fix myself a healthy breakfast. I've actually found myself enjoying the gym, much to my surprise. There's something nice about being the only one there, it gives me the opportunity to just zone out and listen to music or reflect on my life. Plus, I always feel so energized afterwards! Some friends and I are talking about taking a weekend to backpack up and down a local mountain-- all the more reason to put in my time on the stair master!

This Saturday, I'll be moving out of the freshman dorm into specialty housing, and I'm kind of nervous but excited. It's going to be interesting only being able to speak French, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm also looking forward to my gym class in the spring-- now that I'm building up my fitness, I hopefully won't be woefully bad at badminton.

Currently, my school is in the middle of a short term that takes place throughout the month of January. I'm enrolled in a class on Artificial Intelligence, which has its ups and downs...while it's certainly interesting stuff, what we've gone over so far has been far too basic for my liking lol.

WB and I had a not-so-good day yesterday, which was entirely my fault. I was in a rather bad mood, and was fairly snippy. But, he was amazingly sweet and patient. Hopefully, we'll be able to hang out today now that I'm in a better mood...I'm thinking about making him an apple pie to say "Thanks". Only problem is, then I'll want some pie!

Oh well, here's to bigger and better things,

Thank you! I'm really excited-- not many freshman get into specialty housing, plus I'll get my own room and be closer to the center of campus! Not to mention all those stairs up to the specialty "Hill" houses.

Is WB a cat? I didn't know cats like apple pie... :-)

Haha I wish! WB is my Wonderful Boyfriend, who requested that if I was going to journal about him, I keep him anonymous. I miss my little guy (he's back in Texas while I'm at college).

I agree with you about working out. It is tough to motivate yourself to go, but yesterday after, I felt a kind of nirvana come over me, and I almost forget I am about to be 66. Working out once you get to a certain place is kind of invigorating. Good luck with al of it.

Logging is so hard, it seems that when we write down everything we eat we feel bad and see really what we eat.

Exactly!! And while I definitely know that it'll help and keep me from eating as much of the bad stuff, it's still no fun lol

I log and adjust as needed daily. If I work the next day I'll generally figure it out the night before otherwise morning of. I am flexible with myself.. sometimes I do not eat it all and sometimes I'll decide to have a refeed etc you have to allow yourself the wiggle room. The important thing is to stay pretty consistent in your woe.

Well done you for getting into some good routines. Like they say, it only takes 3 weeks for something to become a habit -- so hang in there! About logging your intake, sometimes I use FB to *plan* what I'm going to eat, rather than just record what I've eaten. It's not always possible, of course, but doing it that way can make it feel a bit less like a confession. Of course, that sometimes comes later when I stray wildly from said plan, but at least it sets up some good thinking and intentions. :-)
