ny_shelly's Journal, 12 September 2016

Hi everyone! Yesterday I walked 2.6 miles in the park. It was up / down hills, on a path through the woods. I did pretty well considering the most I had walked before that was .5 mile. We only averaged 1 mph, we took our time and took 2.5 hours to do the walk. I kind of burned out after mile 2 - I think I should have brought some type of quick energy snack with me b/c I kind of pooped out.

Later I ate way too much carbs but I was hungry. And they weren't great carbs either. So I think I used it as an excuse b/c my feet were killing me and I was tired so I did the "oh, it's ok, you earned it" routine. It wasn't exactly a binge but it was pretty darn close. Instead I should have just thought about all of the calories I burned up and the weight loss that happened I was satisfied with cheating and knowing it's probably even. Darn.

Well, that's the way it goes sometimes. I will think twice about it next time!

Have a good day everyone. GO STEELERS!!

That happens but you also developed stamina with the walking - do you have good walking shoes like New Balance or something? We need the support on our feet and knees. Great job!

Thanks HCB! I have cross training shoes from Nike but I really should get some type of walking shoe as well instead of trying to use one shoe type for everything.
