Please use this app safely and responsibly, FS people! I’m not naming names, but I’ve seen a few scary goal weights (unless that person is short enough) that are lower than the starting weight, not higher.

Maybe kilograms instead of pounds? Or maybe this app is being used by children, suddenly?

Read a thoughtful article a couple months ago about how preteen and teen influencers are hooking growing kids on some dangerous compulsions about body size and shape.

I know! Unless it’s in kilograms, or unless those goals are for people who are very short, it’s either children using the app, which is bad, or people who are starving themselves, which is even worse. It’s scary.

How are people losing 5lbs a week? They could be using medication, I guess?

Jeepmomma, I could be wrong, but… …what matters is if it’s temporary or permanent (I think)? If you haven’t been eating very healthy even for a person struggling with weight, as in, the wrong foods all the time as opposed to just too many calories, you can have more extra temporary, not just permanent, weight than you think! I lost 5-7 lbs in a week in the past, but not in the form of fat because I ate plenty, when I was not even that overweight, but was headed in that direction, especially because I didn’t gain weight the normal way, as in not similar foods to a healthy-weight person plus a little junk food too frequently/big portions, but by eating a worse diet than you’d expect for every meal. All I did was eat sensibly, not even ideally, and walk so much I didn’t have to work out too. I weighed almost 150 at the time, and was down to the low 140s after a week.
