RubyRedSox's Journal, 30 June 2011

6 am and my FBS is 99 and down a lb so that's 89 gone. I'm getting ready for an out of town trip to have my eyes scanned this morning. My doctor wants all the info she can get to treat me. As it stands, she'll be treating me for the glaucoma. As for the cataract surgery I had, all is going well there. Hoping to get new reading glasses next month.

As for my daughter, she's now 28 weeks along and her job ended yesterday. Hopefully, she'll be able to pick up more work to get her through. The reason her job ended was because the people she was working for are moving out of state. Things are very stressful in her world and you know "mama" wants to make it better... It's tough all over isn't it?

It's 59 degrees and cloudy but looking to get in the 70's. Anyway, I better get busy.

BIG gentle hugs to all my friends!!

Long time no chat my friend. Wishing you well on your appointment. Does your state have a maternity disability program? If so, her doctor might be willing to put her on temporary disability during her pregnancy which beats unemployment anyday. Well, just a thought. Best of luck my dear friend. Love.

Hey Keli, yeah it's been a while and thanks for the idea!! Hmmm... don't know if Washington state offers it but being WA state it's very possible. I emailed my daughter so maybe she can find out. What she's worried about most is losing her car. I'm trying to keep a positive mindset. She can't get unemployment because she worked privately and in-home employers don't generally pay in to the unemployment system because they don't have to. Keeping my fingers crossed... ♥♥♥

Im sure there are programs (government or community/church) that will be able to assist her. But yes, temporary disability is an option if WA offers it. I know CA did but here in FL they don't. But being that she hasn't been working and paying into unemployement, I'm not sure if it'll affect her eligibility. Good luck.
