Boy, the sugar epiphanies I had last night just opened my eyes a little more to how sugar has been affecting me. As you guys know, my youngest daughter and I got her easy bake oven out over the weekend. She used it for the first time. My older daughter was feeling left out though, so she and I baked peanut butter cup cup cakes as well. I had a small one of the cup cakes last night and in came the epiphanies. A few minutes after eating it I started talking about being sleepy. My husband said to me, "You must have ate a cup cake." I asked how he knew and he just looked at me like duh. Then it dawned on me that the sugar was making me sleepy. Right after I realized the sugar was affecting me so quickly I realized that my moods had leveled out as well. I had read that mood swings come with sugar highs and lows but never thought that was the cause of my mood swings. I thought I was just a moody person because my mood swings were such a constant. But the last few weeks I have been less snappy and generally just a bit more easy going. Wow the things we learn when we change our routine.

I started something else new last night. After watching a tv show with someone making pottery from clay I commented to my hubby that would love to learn something like that. Well, don't you know he went out and got me some raw clay. We started figuring out how to purify it last night. It is going to be a long process but it will be good arm and shoulder exercises in the mean time. I don't think the exercise journal will include a "purifying clay" exercise so I guess I will just log it as weights. I'll try to remember to post a pic when I finally get a finished product out of it, but don't expect it any time soon. Happy journey everyone!

Great insights...and great you are going to learn to work with clay. And congrats to your husband for being pro-active and buying the clay!!! Have a great Monday and rest of the week :)

Oh, it will be interesting but he didn't buy it. If he had we wouldn't need to purify it. He saw a vein of it where some work was being done and the ground was torn up. So he stopped and dug out some of it. This is straight from mother earth. He said he wanted to see how serious I was about it. I told him if it was a test then I fail already. He just laughed and told me to come on and get to work.
