FBS this morning 89 woohoo!

YAY for small victories!!

I'm on regular metformin 500 tabs 2xdaily. My script says 1 in the morning and 1 at dinner, both times with food. The problem is the only time I eat in the morning is when I'm really hungry so generally I put off taking my morning med until closer to lunch time. Unfortunately, I've also watched my blood sugar slowly raise before then as well as my liver keeps dumping in more sugar. Also, I sometimes tend to have a higher reading in the morning due to the same problem. Sooo, I've done some experimenting and have found I do much, much better by deviding up my med into 4- 1/2 doses. I split my pills and take 1/2 in the morning, another at lunch time, another 1/2 at dinner time and the last one before bed.

The next time I see my dr I'm going to ask him to change my script so I don't have to split my pills but I have to say I'm excited about this because stressing over my blood sugar was getting pretty depressing.

I don't know why I didn't think of this a long time ago! The whole idea is to keep my blood sugar at a stable level and I just can't do the recommended diabetic "grazing" of eating 6 times a day. I've never eaten that way. I'm more of a once or twice a day kind of eater and my "snacks" have always been more like tea, coffee and water. It was eating high carb foods like rice that spiked my blood sugar that put on all the excess weight. I didn't know I was having problems with my blood sugar until I was dxd.

Anyway, like I said... yay for small victories! :d

Alright Ruby, that is awesome!! Hope all is well other than that. How was the Harry Potter movie and the popcorn? I had some yesterday, and it was delish!!! I also had a low carb margarita! MMMMMM...sooooo good!!!

Loved the Harry Potter movie and the popcorn!! Had no issues as it was planned. Mararita yum. Looking for a low carb version of a mud slide "hint, hint":D Oh, and my daughter, Tia and baby doing fine. Her belly is getting SO big and she's now a DDD - yikes. She was referred to a high risk specialist and filing to get medicade to help with all the bills. Thank you Stef for the prayers!! Love n hugs!!

These margaritas are made by Jose Cuervo, and are quite tasty. I would google low carb mudslides and see what you can find....wonder if you could make them with heavy cream, chocolate, rum, and ice? Glad to hear Tia is doing well, and a triple D???? OMG that is huge! lol When is she due?
