It's tough being away from home. I struggle every time we visit family out of town. Hang in there, just do the best you can, at least it's for a limited period of time.

I hate those kind of days. For me, that amounts to an extra half week of dieting. I don't think it's worth it. I get what you mean about the 'controlled environment'. It's no wonder people pay to go to 'fat farms'. The problem is where you get 'released'.

When I did my 6 week junk food fast (no GMOs, breads/pasta or refined grains, no added sugars be they honey, high fructose corn syrup or cane sugar - only small amounts of fresh fruit) I felt so much better and my desire for sugar has decreased dramatically and I get the reward of feeling good. Since I'm diabetic I don't keep sweets in the house which is an occasional problem when I have a low sugar. Maybe change your environment and try to avoid TV triggers (change channel if there's a food commercial or watch commercial-free stations), go to self bagging grocery lanes to avoid check out temptations and shop for fresh foods avoiding snack, baking, candy aisles whenever possible. If your co-workers are big bagel/donut sharers, bring a cooler for your healthy foods so you can avoid the break room. And remember, you weren't bad and you haven't failed; you've learned more about your susceptibility and are able to discard one more way that doesn't work.

Yes J! That's progress that I truly like :) It has only taken me 2 days to see the scale go down significantly! SO exciting for me,the swiftness of rebounding in the desired direction!!!

I often have to travel, so of necessity I have to dine out. I just try to make "decent choices" and estimate the cal intake as best I can if I cannot find them in the database. I still manage to keep my cals right around my maintenance level. If I do go over, I try to adjust slightly on the rest of the weeks days (instead of starving myself on the following day) as the weekly average calorie deficit is what matters in the end. When I am out of my environment, I remind myself of my desire to be healthy and that helps me keep my mouth in check.

I agree CK,when our desire to change becomes stronger than our desire to stay the same, our whole way of life begins to "get in line" LOL because there's a new boss in town! :)

Someone once said "Until the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the pain of change, we will never change." Napoleon(?) said it a little differently, "Until they fell pain, they will not change."

Yep,someone somewhere said something similar. It's true :) *I* feel the pain .....
