Deb_N's Journal, 03 October 2014

Hello, everyone! Doing ok on my food and exercise. As fatty ed wrote on my journal two days ago, sleep and stress are linked. I so agree on that. A year ago I was sleeping an average of 8 hours a night. It dropped to 7.5 hours a night, then 7 hrs, 6.5 hrs, 6 hrs and 20 minutes. It dropped to a low of 5 hours and 45 minutes the week before I got sick. I asked the doctor if my problem was caused by stress. He said no, it was exposure to a virus that caused it, but the stress exacerbated it. Obviously I cannot control all the stressful things that others (relatives and in-laws) do. So I need to focus on getting more sleep.

good sleep really matters for all kinds of health. 5-6 hours may be enough for some, but not for most. I have bouts of insomnia if I am over stressed. Awake from about 2 am until dawn. I know weight loss will elude me when this happens. I hope you are getting more rest now. J

Kattay, one of my daughters is like you, she is always exhausted as she has to get up and go to work and right now get Chyann to 6:30 volleyball practices. Drives her DH crazy, he's early to bed and up early. He doesn't get it and they have been married 17 years.

The bad thing is most nights I am wide awake and raring to go. Too bad I live in a town that completely shuts down at night. I usually just give up on the sleep notion until I am completley exhausted. I just can't lay in bed for long if I am not tired. Haven't been to sleep yet. Might be a early night tonight lol. Maybe that will put me on track for awhile.

Daughter does the same, she lives in the middle of a forest with tiny towns 8-10 miles away. She ends up watching movies, playing stupid computer games, reading... etc.
