How are you finding that amount a day? Is it enough to exercise well? Im on 1200, and sometimes i feel low on energy when exercising.

I find 1000 calories to be just enough for me to not feel drained and be able to exercise. I'm lifting 4x a week, Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday, 3-4 exercises a day, 3-4 sets each, 12-15 reps per set, last two sets always to failure. Overhead barbell press, incline dumbbell bench press, reverse dumbbell flyes, lateral raises, flat bench dumbbell flyes, barbell squats, cable pulls is mainly what I'm doing. I do every exercise 2x per week. More volume than that, or less food, and my regime starts to suffer. With that amount I've found that I can go hard, see progress, and be ready to go again after rest days. If I feel physically or mentally weak, I allow myself to take a break for a couple of days, but I never go over 1000 calories. That happens every 3 weeks or so. I'm eating about 15% carbs, 40% fats, 45% protein. I feel good and during the 11 weeks I'm doing this have never been really hungry. Hope that helps :)

Wombat, I read your reply below and I am glad someone understands me. 1000 calories was just enough for me. Makes you really pay attention to the labels and choose wisely. I wouldn’t change anything about my method. Some people would be shocked if we say we do strength training at 1000 calories a day. It can be dangerous if you don’t do it properly but if you track your macros properly you get the right nutrients in :)
