Jillzee00's Journal, 25 January 2014

I don't think I'll get up to a 1000 today. I'm just not hungry today. Weekends are tough because I usually have breakfast at lunch time. I took Alisha to tennis and then went to Walmart. Lucas had a yummy dinner--nice and healthy, but not full of calories. Is it that important to get that many calories in? I feel full and like I've eaten okay. Does anyone else do a "calorie" diet? It seems when you eat healthy snacks, that it then becomes hard to get the calories in. Aren't we supposed to eat a lot of veggies?

My diet consists mostly of watching my calories and cutting out the sweets and stuff. I have also barely been hungry today.. I had an oatmeal for breakfast and a tiny salad for lunch and was full... I made this really good beef & vegetable stir fry dinner w/ brown rice and didn't even eat all that I put on my plate... I try to snack on celery when I'm hungry but my favorite snack is air-popped popcorn.. very few calories and its great to snack on! I didn't even hit 1000 calories today either...Good luck!!

You certainly got enough net carbs in today. That keeps you from getting hungry. I don't necessarily believe in calorie counting ... I do believe in carb control. So far so good, Jillzee.

I only wish I could NOT be hungry. I watch calories, and that's what I do is "watch" so I don't go over. I am usually ALWAYS hungry. I admire you 2 are not hungry.

Jill, I have trouble getting the calories in as well. I wonder if my body is in starvation mode many days especially when the scale seems to be stuck. I sure don't look it. LOL. Jeri

Listen to your body, if it doesn't want to eat, don't feed it! I rarely hungry before 10:00!

I agree with trying to get the calories in. Better than not giving your body what it needs. A little olive oil or butter or peanut butter adds a bit of calories and deliciousness to your diet.

I agree to go with what your body signals… its a brilliant machine when we operate it right & listen to its signals! You're doing that so well… keep it up! xoxox

I actually started doing WW and the points because I cut my calories when I was counting to the point that even at 1000, I couldn't lose weight. On WW I am allowed to eat as many fruits and veggies I want and then points only on my other foods. And some days I have trouble even getting enough points.

Kathy--if this doesn't work, then I think I may try WW. I'm going to give this a good try, though. It really did work before, but I was exercising then. It's almost "exercise" weather (I walk A LOT in the Spring/Summer).

I have done weight watchers and it is an excellent companion piece to this. It helps keep one focused on getting the right foods in the correct amounts. I love this site for the ease of tracking what I eat and, more importantly, my exercise results. My trainer makes the same point they do at Weight Watchers. If you don't give your body enough calories, it begins to slow it's metabolism because your body senses a crises/famine. Try to get those extra calories by having hummus with vegetables or a higher calorie content carb-like quinoa instead of pasta, really dense bread instead of white, etc. Good luck.
