It's cool I lost as much as my son weighs,lollll...My 5 month old weighs about 22 lbs( yup a big boy but my oldest was like him and now is thin) and I lost 19lbs. When I lift him up he is heavy,so imagine I lost a whole baby, lolllll. Can't wait to say I lost a whole child, lollll

Ok I got to vent........I am really frustrated......when some people say it's easy to eat healthy cheap,argh.......I am living it, till I start school in a 3 weeks we are really tight...Our pirority is to eat healthy but its really hard. We run all over town(costs gas) for the specials and even drop buy the farmers market but still it is difficult.I make everything from scratch,we eat out maybe once a month and then again maybe once every 2 months. It costs money to cook in bulk.I make a huge spaghetti sauce but the start cost is expensive. You need money up front to buy and cook in bulk, of course in the long run you save but many people don't have the up front money to spend. Like I said I make everything from scratch,my own pie dough, sauces, soups, desserts, suppers.Even when I worked I made everything from scratch(I love to cook)We don't buy any premade food.Hell I make my own pizza dough. We buy the basics, canned tomatoes, tomatoe juice, some canned veggies, frozen veggies and fresh when in season and cheap. But it's still really hard.I actually don't eat much fruit or veggies so my kids can eat them because it's more important that they eat healthy then me.We buy meat on special but some weeks it's hard to stock up. My DH says I can make something good with nothing. But when your pantry is empty and you have 5$ to feed a family of 4 you go for the food that will fill you up.I have seen a lot of people in that situation. they have 100$ to feed a family of 4 for a month. That includes every meal(breackfast, lunch and supper)It's hard.

Where I worked it helped a lot because they can cook decent meals to feed for a month, but thats because they cooked with a group of others and they where able to buy in bulk because the budget was bigger over all..... I will explain I know that for a speghetti sauce it costs about $40 for 20 portions. A chiken a la king sauce is about 35$ for 20 portions. A veggie chili is about 30$ a portion. thats 3 recipies and the over all is 105$.Now there are 5 members and they took 4 portions each it would cost them each 21$.But if they made each recipie separtly at home it would cost them more then double because they can't afford to buy in bulk. I just made a macaroni and meat(tomato juice, tomato soup,910g of beef, onion, and noodles) it would of cost me over 12$ and that will make 5 or 6 portions I was lucky because I already had everything in my pantry but for the ones that don't it's hard.

thank you reading my rant,lolllll....if someone actually read it,lol.

I am with you there it is very hard to buy healthy food. We buy a lot of meat tho. I also try to buy fresh vegetables/fruit when we can afford it. I also make my food from scratch about 95% of the time. I don't use pre-made stuff to often only when my husband cooks. lol. (Men) I too had my daughter 5 months ago and she is big about 20-30lb+ with car seat/backpack so I understand the heavy part lol. We try not to eat out to much, before my daughter we ate out everyday, we worked long hours and didn't want to come home and cook. Since she came we try so hard to make healthier habits so in the future she will also. You are doing a great job and have made the first step to a long journey but you can do it!
