Hi, I'm Sam. I'm just trying to hit my goal. I do this for myself--I want to be happy and healthy. (:

I've always had an image of what I wanted to look like. I want to get to that goal and stay there. Not for any event, or for Summer, or for anything else--just for me. I know that the only way I'll be able to get to my goal and stay there, is if I do it just for myself.

Bio: 4'11"; 20 years old; Starting weight: 133.2 lbs.

Did your doctor ever tell you to lose weight?
My pcd has told me that a few times--but it's really just because of my height. I'm only 5'0" and I was 4'10-11" all the way through middle school and high school. Entering high school, I weighed in around 121 lbs, which honestly wasn't too bad, but since I was young, he said that I should watch it, just so I don't gain a ton. Now, entering college a semester ago, I was 133--and probably more than that.

The reason I even started to lose weight was because I went into the doctors office, stepped on the scale, and saw 133 pop up in front of me for the first time. I spoke to my doctor and he said that I was, literally, just above average bmi, so 3-4 lbs would be good to lose. I told him I'd definitely lose that and more.

And I wasn't kidding. From that day til now, I've lost 5 pounds and counting. And I'm effing proud of it, too. I know for a lot of you guys, 5 pounds is nothing, but at my height, 5 pounds shows up big time!

Anyways, in general, I think doctors should bring it up more often. If people aren't smacked in the face with the reality of what obesity could potentially do to their bodies, why should they find it in them to change it? (:

Sodium intake question?
How much Sodium is bad to have daily? I never really paid much attention to how much I took in, but I saw an article that drew my attention to it, and I figured I'd ask you knowledgeable people. Very Happy
