I love Lean Gains (before Martin had his breakdown), he was one of the few fitness bloggers who actually cited journals.

In that he post he says the same thing I said, alcohol alone will in no way impede your diet. If you can afford the 155 kCal help yourself, the problem comes when you down 12 beers then get 2 foot long chili cheese dogs with the works.

Wow, that looks like a reputable sourceRolling Eyes

What you need to understand is that alcohol is converted to acetate by the liver. The oxidation of acetate takes precedence over other nutrients and is oxidized to carbon dioxide and water. However, alcohol alone will in no way impede your diet. (drunk munchies on the other hand...)

You're averaging over 2000 calories a day. Based on your age, height, weight, and activity level you're burning ~1750 calories a day. If you want to lose weight eat less than 1750 calories. You should lose 1 lb a week at a 500 calorie deficit.

I would also recommend adding more weightlifting into your workouts otherwise you'll end up skinnyfat when you lose the weight.

The real drawback to alcohol consumption is that when you imbibe everything else becomes low priority while your body deals with the toxin.
