As is clearly evidenced by massiverally's post, the fates are feeling frisky and looking to score. They have been hitting on me with 3 iron these last couple of weeks, but such is life. It just seems as though there is a confluence of exhaustion, high fat high salt food and limited time in my immediate vicinity. Thankfully I have only slid a few pounds and I am going to strategically elect to not post a weigh-in. I don't think there is must posterity in it. Next week I will post a weight and it will just look like I have been holding strong but hit a plateau. I like that narrative better. Then I can triumphantly break the wall. So much better then slogging my way back to where I just was.

Today is truly a beautiful day, or so i hear. I work in a windowless basement so who am I to discuss such things. But still, I hear it is beautiful. Apparently the sun is shining and everything. Who would have thought such a thing was possible here in the PNW. Now that I have covered the obligatory weather discussion, or at least i assume it is obligatory, whenever my in-laws call they always ask me about the weather first thing, I will move on to the FS relevant news. The weight is coming off slowly but surely and I am up to 4 mile runs which bodes well for the late August 10K I was foolish enough to sign up for. I am hoping that losing another 20 pounds will make running 6 miles the functional equivalent of running 4 while dragging the extra 20 pounds with me.
The one major challenge I am having right now is standing up and sitting. I suppose further explanation will be helpful and I will dispense with the obvious prison humor. Too easy. So I am on a four day workout cycle. 1) Chest and Back - cardio rowing and eliptical 2) legs and core - cardio running 3) Shoulders and Arms - cardio rowing and eliptical 4) Cardio running and eliptical. This seems to be fine for everything except my legs. The recovery period just takes too long. I did legs Tuesday, sled-press - walking lunges - plyometrics etc. My ASS still hurts! WTF. Seriously, it is hard to sit, and once sat un-sitting is a feat of monumental proportions. Why is this? I think it is a cruel joke. No one looks funny because their pecs are sore, but try to walk to the printer with hammies that are tighter than a Wardens sphincter when you mention funds (see what I did there .. huh huh. Ya .. see it ..see it, such layering, contextual humor coupled with a popculture reference that requires two derivations. Bless me) and you look like you are a 90 year old man trying to make it to the can.
I am going to hit the gym tonight and see if I can't work out the soreness but who know, I may get there and winge like a little boy who wants to dress like a little girl, in which case I will end up at home with a bottle of wine. Wish me luck.
