I have been going to the gym for just over a month now. For the first month, I stayed on the treadmill. An hour at a time. After the first week, I got myself up to some jogging intervals and push 3.5k/hour. I dropped 13.5 lbs in two weeks. Then I gained back 5lbs and nothing has shed off since. I do have hypothyrodism and metabolic syndrome. So seeing no weight loss is a bit unnerving but I am trying to keep myself focused and keep telling myself that my body is just rebelling and eventually will let go of the fat.

So after a month of the tread, I figured lets start adding in some other stuff. I spoke with my gym's trainer and he has set up a routine of weight lifting for me. Now weights just do not thrill me at all. My arms and legs are far from my problem...its my torso...that problem belly area. But yet, my arms and legs seem to be what he wants to work on. I don't have chicken skin on my arms...my legs are nicely shaped and can turn a man's eye. Yes, I did tell my trainer what part of my body I want to work on. But doing things for my arms and legs, is also disheartening. My heart is not in putting muscle on....for toning, yes, once I've lost some weight and things need to be toned. He didn't put any treadmill in my program, a bit of time on the rowing machine.

I came home from the gym feeling let down and discouraged. One exercise for my stomach. It honestly got me really down. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.
