Yes, I AM on a DIET! The word came from daeta (Latin) "prescribed way of life," and from diaita (Greek), "way of life, regimen, and dwelling". Never understand why people consider it a four letter word, other than the fact there are indeed four letters ... ;-)

I usually eat well (whole-grains, lots of organic fruits and veggies, free-range eggs, raw milk, bake my own bread and goodies, etc.) but too much of a good thing still makes me lumpy and have bumped me up from a size 2 to a size 4.

Lost some weight earlier this year, finally got serious: back to size 2 by September 4, 2011. No excuse.

MREs and IRENE
Not sure you are talking about "civilian" MREs or real military issued MREs. When you open up a pack of real MREs, each individual food item has nutritional value listed on the package.

There have been a lot of changes and I don't think they have freeze dried fruit cocktail anymore. They do have Reese's peanut butter and M&Ms!

CHANGED FROM DUKAN TO ATKINS, MUCH BETTER NOW!
It is as simple as calories in vs. calories out.

Perhaps so if your ONLY goal is to lose weight. There are many here who have other goals as well - to improve health, to mitigate some existing conditions, train for a marathon, or even to eat in a way to reduce carbon footprint.

Frankly, people are a bit tired of your one-size-fit-all "truth" without taken into consideration the age, health condition, choice of diet, and goals of the person who posed a question.

Mexican Resturants
That all depends whether you are low-carb, low-fat, eat-clean, calorie count, vegetarian, vegan, macrobiotic, and so on. What are you trying to avoid?

What are your motivations or how are you going to celebrate when you join your goal weight?
My reward. Boyfriend is buying. I am so close to being a perfect fit that I can taste it ...

Running
Much of it depends on why you run and what is your goal. If you want to lose weight/fat, strength training is more time efficient. If you run for running's sake, or are training for a race, then it is a completely different game. Runner's World is a much better place for advice than some bodybuilding site.

Also, 20-minutes of run/walk is not that much exercise. (But it is great your are doing it because we all have to start somewhere). If you are up to it, try doing some fartlek which I find very helpful in improving both speed and endurance:
