To update:
I originally lost 11 stones doing vegetarian Atkins. For years I stayed at or close to goal weight (10st).
Then I began to regain like lightning. My response was to eat less, and less, and fast, etc etc. Understandable reaction.
As you will see from my earlier entries I struggled to get my weight down again. Over time this proved impossible no matter how little I ate!
I was once 21 3/4 stones. I lost 11 of those stones. I truly thought that, thanks to low carbing, I would stay at goal indefinitely.
So this rapid regain, muscle pain and total exhaustion scared me and in no time took over my life. My advice to others who find that they feel ill, weak, totally exhausted etc and also cannot lose weight no matter how little they eat - see your doctor for blood tests. I had no idea my thyroid gland was no longer working.
I've worked hard to re-lose 7st 5lb since last July. I intend to keep going until I'm back to goal.

I'm back, at last, after an eight year struggle with thyroid disease. I had no idea this was my problem. I went up to 18st 7lb and could barely get out of bed. Pains everywhere, weakness, unbelievable fatigue 24/7. These symptoms and many more made my life a misery and caused me to become bed-bound and out of touch with the world.
I was diagnosed last July (2016) and since then I have steadily lost weight. I am now 11st 2lb after a lot of hard work and serious dieting. I eat for health and strength, and limit carbs most days.
I'm low carbing again to break a six-week stall.
Hope to get down to 10st 7lb in time for Christmas.
