I'm 40 with an introverted personality, a SAHM with 9 kids. My girls range from 26 to 6. I am a very proud grandmother of 9 grand-wonders.
I never really worried about my weight because I told myself I would take care of it when I was done having babies. On May 5th I got my wake up call and made the decision to change my life forever.
My health had gotten so bad that I couldn't walk from my chair to the bathroom without running out of breath. I spent my life in my chair. Seeing things from my chair. I loved my family but had unreal exceptions of them. I wanted them to save me from myself. I have since learned only by taking a hard look at myself that doesn't work. You have to take care of yourself. A choice I make daily. Life is still busy and I still crave attention from my family but I am trying to learn how to use those negative focuses to better myself.

I have a host of medical issues that I deal with and battle daily. The major one's are Diabetes (type 2) and hyperthyroidism (Grave's Disease). I have medical issues with my legs that I am working to improve and that are improving on their own with weight loss.

I want to be buddies so please request. Maybe sharing the quest with like minded people will lighten the load and make the deed more bearable.

Are you tracking what you eat? You would be surprised at the amount of calories you can consume and not realize it.

How do you know what the serving size is in the cookbook?
Thanks guys. I made a 6qt crockpot of chili yesterday and just figured it to be 20 1 cup servings. Since it wasn't completely full so 5qts=20 cups. =) I've been measuring out everything after it's cooked. I was just hoping there was an easier way.

How do you know what the serving size is in the cookbook?
I put in my recipe and it tells me how many calories depending on how many servings I list. What I would like to know is how big is the serving?

I ran 13 miles yesterday and ate 1500 calories. This morning i gained 2lbs. Help! So upset!
I think exercise should be for toning your body, not for weight loss. I am certainly not a doctor but if I can lose as much weight as I have in a small period of time with just walking with weights, I don't understand why I would need to run 13 miles or exercise 90 minutes.
