I am a retired wife/grandmother of 4. During retirement and covid I have become alot more sedentary and eating more!! I need to get my weight under control for my health and just to feel better. I am a very good cook and love being in the kitchen. I want to turn my skills into making meals that are more in line with feeling better physically and better psychologically.

Not Well but on it!
Morning everyone! Sorry I've been radio-silent as they say but I've been sick in bed all week. For those wondering, no not covid just a really bad cold!! lol (2 neg tests). I was trying to keep up and stay on but it was too exhausting. Even today I am not 100% but alot better! I've been on the treadmill and bike again, not where I want to be yet but working at it is most important. I want to thank my supporters! Meant so much to see. Anyways, back to getting on track. This coming week I need to work on different meals as I'm tired of eating the same thing. I will share what I come up with. So hard all of this, easy to put on and fun but so hard to do this.
I wish everyone a great weekend, we all can do this!!!!!

1st week!
Hello!! I have my first week under my belt and feel really great. Two big items I introduced into my daily eating/routine that has helped tremendously is Metamucil and Sugar Twin. My cholesterol is really high and so I did some research and found that Metamucil and help lower it. As for the sugar twin, well it took some convincing to switch from sugar but was quite surprised that it tastes good and no after taste! I still can't do the diet soda thing, but I'm not really a pop drinker so I'm not concerned. I do like the Bubly soda water and it has nothing that changes my numbers!!

As well I'm quite impressed w/ myself going on the stationery bike for 20 min/200 cal and treadmill 28 min/100 cal every 4 days consecutively!!!! I have hated exercise all my life except for swimming and well, I haven't been able to figure out how to swim in a snowbank!!! lol

Meal Planning
Hi Everyone, I'm hoping some of you can help me. I'm having alot of trouble finding foods for meals that i can actually eat without exceeding sodium daily levels. ie: was going to have chili for dinner tomorrow w/ my husband but can't as it's at the top end for daily sodium amounts. I'm getting so frustrated, been working at this all afternoon. As well, why when you eat fruit the sugars are registered like they are bad sugars? Yesterday I had a banana and it went off the charts. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

First Week
I did it!! I actually did my first full week and lost 5.7 lbs. For the first time in a really long time I am proud of myself. Now my mind is concentrating on this week and trying to find more meals/snacks that i can eat with even less sugars. I am scaling back on my sugar in my morning coffees but that is going to take some time. Alot of the meals want foods that I super don't like!! lol ie|: avocados, squash, sweet potato. Thankfully my husband is 1000% supportive. Hitting 11k on my galaxy watch today will be hard as we got a bunch of snow again and now mixed w/ light rain.
