Still to go: 77.0 lb
With support from FatSecret, I lost 60 pounds in 2010-12, but my life went a bit off the track at that point, as I became a part-time caregiver first for my mom and then for my sister, who passed away during the pandemic. Between the stress of those responsibilities and a worsening back/foot injury, I let myself go, and now I have to start over again. I tried to retire last year, but it didn't stick, so I am actively working -- primarily grant writing -- plus I spend a fair amount of time walking my dogs and taking them to various classes (agility, rally, etc.), so I'm not entirely sedentary -- especially since I just got my bad foot injected and it's a life-changing positive result, at least for 5-6 months. I want to feel good about myself again, so I'm ready to start.

no salt added, no fat added
I'm not sure I understand your problem. If you look up asparagus or broccoli or carrots -- there's no salt added in raw veggies, and nearly all entries for cooked vegetables have on entry for "cooked with fat" and another entry for "no fat added." Same thing with meats. It never occurred to me that all the entries for cooked veggies had salt added -- but I'm wondering if you are misinterpreting the fact that there are sodium counts listed for naturally occurring sodium, rather than added salt. What are you actually trying to accomplish?

Nutrition fact accuracy
I am mystified by why nutrition facts for foods with clear labeling end up inaccurate in the Fatsecret database. And simple things! Today I ate 365 root vegetables, and when I looked them up in the database, there were several errors, including the serving size and calorie count. It's so odd. I made the corrections. That said -- just suggesting that you check the nutrition facts against available labeling and make whatever corrections are needed in the database. We all depend on one another here.

Consume RDI calories or aim for lower amount for weight-loss?
I would love to know the answer to this question as well. My RDI also says 1800 -- but I know from experience that there is no way I will lose weight eating any more than 1450 per day, so I try to stay below that level most days. I think you have to experiment with this. Do 1800 for two weeks, weigh in and see what happens. If you don't lose anything, try 1700, etc. -- but don't make decisions too quickly. It takes a while for your system to adjust to reduced calories.

Modifying Ingredient Quantities
I don't mind so much splitting 2 TBSP to say 1/2 of 2 TBSPs -- what drive me nuts is when I'm trying to put in a recipe that includes sugar or half & Half, and I can't find a listing that measures in cups -- only tsps. It's crazy to try to do the math to go from 1 tsp to a half cup. I think what you actually have to do is create a new food entry for that ingredient that shows a measurement closer to what you need for your logging.
