See if the whole carb thing, my doctor told me that I should only be having the 40-60 gms per day due to the fact that carbohydrates turn into sugar and my body does not process the sugar properly and my blood sugar ends up wayyy too high. Thanks for the advice everyone, I really appreciate it!

I'm completely new to this FatSecret website, I actually found it when trying to figure out the nutritional content of something I ate last night. Let's see...I'm 24 I'll be 25 in May and I would like to lose about 30-35 lbs, my doctor would like me to lose 40 or 50; My current weight is 174 and I'm 5'8. I just started dieting on Thursday, along with a new medication to take for my blood sugar and some phentermine to take for weight loss. I'm trying to only have 40-60 grams of carbs per day and absolutely no sugar; I also write down everything that goes into my mouth and record the carbs, protein and fat. If anyone would like to buddy up with me, we could help motivate each other!

Any thoughts on Phentermine?
I was on it previously and lost a few pounds but I couldn't remember to take it on a regular basis and wasn't working out or eating healthy. I went back to the doctor on Wednesday and he's put me on it. I took a whole 37.5mg tab yesterday morning and pretty much crashed and burned by 3pm. This morning I took half a tab when i got up and then took the other half about 10:30; I haven't crashed and burned this afternoon yet. I do feel a big difference in being hungry so hopefully with me eating better, and in moderation, with the combination of excercise I'll be dropping pounds!

Sugar Cravings
Okay so, I'm borderline diabetic and I'm trying to make a lifestyle change to get in control with my sugar and lose weight. However, I crave sweets; is there anything out there that can help curb or stop the craving for sugar??
