Hi Debbie! Smile
I have found that if I buy (from say Woolies) 1 litre bottles of Aroona Sports Spring Water, I can drink at least TWO bottles per day. The bottles are easy to carry around and take a "swig" every now and again. (I tried just tap water in their great bottle when I had an empty one, but plain tap water will make you feel sick after a few sips I found, unless the water is chilled).
With Aroona the water tastes great whether chilled ot not. Just keep the bottle near you wherever you are. (I also have set 8 alarms on my FitBit watch spread out during the day to alert me at each alarm (just a silent vibrate on your wrist) to drink at least 250 ml from the bottle (a quarter of the bottle's volume). I found eventually on hot days I end up drinking 3 litres no problems! It really works! Smile

By the way, I restrict all my food to "Lite n'Easy" and it is SO easy to monitor and keep control over your "calories in/calories out" (The most important method in losing weight I have found).
A combination of a Fitbit watch, 10000 steps walking each day, making sure your calories in are less than your calories out (using the FitBit PC/Phone application) and drinking at least 2 litries of what a day(8 glasses) can only lead to success, (I am just starting, like you, but I received a shock when advised by my doctor I have Type 2 Diabetes. My aim is to eventually get down to 76K (I was 138K at Christmas time but am now 129 aiming (as an initial goal ) for 100.
