0.5 kilos=no worries. I just LOVE hummus. Do you make your own? Hummus and celery=excellent!

What exactly are the "poor choices?"

Arabella66, I've been on a all you can eat cake diet. I've not made time to make healthier homemade options so I just need to stop. Too much sugar and carbs.

:(( Oh Chica. I see you haven't been sleeping well either which will only perpetuate the poor food choices, BUT I am certain you will get this back under control. Can't do wrong with hummus and celery sticks unless you are eating a whole tub of hummus.

Only half a tub of hummus yesterday. :) But yes, when I get tired I'll grab anything to eat. But not a good excuse. I'm using some restraint now it's just a matter of having a longer period of eating healthier.

Lack of sleep or poor quality sleep throws everything off. :(( You got this!

Hummus is my favorite snack! I recently discovered edamame hummus... A slightly different flavor but seems to be a tad lower in carbs, so I've been snacking on that lately. Not gonna lie though... If I'm eating it in front of the tv, that whole tub will be GONE!!

Chica - nice swap in eating hummus instead of cake. More filling, more protein. Smart of you to keep weighing yourself to catch it quick.

I hope whatever is interrupting your sleep, resolves itself quickly. Otherwise I will quote BiggEuro, "do your best, forget the rest". 🕊

Thanks all, I'm trying to focus on savory foods to curb the carbs and sugar cravings. But my discipline needs to kick in. Sleep is an off and on thing. I've been battling that one for a while. It's a little more manageable. Here's to a cake free weekend.

That cake (and even the hummus, darlin') is spiking your insulin in the night and keeping you from sleeping. It's a downward spiral that I'm all too familiar with. Then the next day you hunger hormones are all our of whack and you need to eat carbs to keep from crashing. Grab hold of this; it's very bad for your overall well-being.

Chica, I've been struggling for years with insomnia. In addition to controlling insulin spikes, I've hit upon some winning supplements. I've tried gabba, melatonin, 5htp and magnesium, all with varying positive results, but not reliable good sleep results. My integrative medicine doctor told me to take them all at one - no harm in it. And I have had really great results - about 5 out of seven full nights of good sleep for several weeks running. Hallelujah! I was afraid to combine, but the combination woks great with no 'hang-over' in the morning. Hope this is helpful.

should say 'all at once'

Thank you, Jim. I will not let this get out of control. I can see a marked difference in BF%. It's amazing what sugar does in a short time span.

Thanks so much, erika. I feel pretty bad and I know the lack of sleep is a definite contributor but I can feel the negative effects of the high carb/sugar plan I was on, too. Your sleep improvement is impressive. I appreciate you sharing this information.
