losinit1655's Journal, 04 January 2016

Well that's about enough of that . . . FAR too much time spent on the 'Dark Side' over the holidays -- time to choose the 'Light' (AND the 'Lite'). I'm in the market for an FS Jedi Master if anyone's interested -- the pay's lousy (OK, actually non-existent which means it can neither be lousy nor great) but good perks (telecommute and flexible hours)!

This puts me nearly 4 lbs. over my Driver's License weight (a threshold which now serves as my new 'emergency brake system'). Time for a reboot. Not going to dwell on this epic fail other than to use my extreme irritation with myself to fuel a return to better eating habits and more consistent workouts. I already know what works for me to bring that number back down and what I need to do which is half the battle -- time to just DO it.

Like you said, Leigh Ellen, you know what to do. Just do it. It's not so bad once you're back in the habit.

Your journal sparked a conversation that I had with my spouse. We both got out our drivers license to check our weight. My license states "185 pounds" which was wishful thinking about a year ago when my license was last renewed. My current weight is 189. My spouse's drivers license (which was renewed 17 years ago) stated her exact current weight. This is the same spouse that rarely goes to the gym and never tracks her eating, but wears her weight well on her long body. I think my driver's license weight will be my mini-goal .... I would hate to have a police officers not recognize me because I was chubbier than my licenses states.

Saw the new SW movie and loved it, so may the Force be with you! But you haven't failed, we only do that when we give up and quit and you're not doing that.

Iowa doesn't put weight on their license anymore. I kept mine at 165 for many years, including when I was 275. Nobody batted an eye then, and now that it would actually be true they stopped putting it!

That's all funny. When I last did my driver's license, I said 290, which was a bald faced lie... I was at least 340 at the time. When I redid it, it was so good to report my actual weight at the time -- a weight I never thought I'd see again.

Was just telling my husband I am thinking of getting a replacement license as my pic is so different now. We have to take glasses off and cannot smile in the pic. I always look like I'm mad....I hate that!

Well, Rckc, you're not going to be smiling when you get pulled over...

@Draglist -- Such phenomenal progress and success you've made! Yes, my DL weight is probably 10-15 years old (just kept 'carrying it over' at renewal time even though I KNEW it was no longer accurate . . . I was up to at least 30% OVER that weight for a good while) -- laughing at the literal/figurative interpretation of your 'bald-faced' lie! ;) @Rckc -- Try as I might, despite losing weight and looking/feeling 'younger', I can't get clerks to bat an eye at my age (or even bother to check my DOB) when I buy wine! :); @linkrunner -- Clever point . . . LOL!

There is no failure only lessons. In my County, we can smile on our licenses. I had mine replaced after I lost 70lbs. Only thing was I was asked to put my chin down. Terrible pic. Note to self. Try to find a mirror to see what I look like before my pic is taken. Brush my hair!

Sugar Waffle- yes! I will practice before I go! I haven't had a good pic on license in many a year....It is always so close up and my head is so big. I think the DOT employees just have a cruel sense of humor! LOL
