losinit1655's Journal, 14 December 2015

Given my recent and rather extreme binges (once again same song/same verse), the only thing I can figure is that 1) weight training sessions with a personal trainer, 2) drinking more H2O and 3) some adherence to 5:2 IF have been my 'saving graces' of late. I'll certainly take this 'holding steady' weigh-in and - although I'll tackle one day at a time - aiming for a GOOD, SOLID week of adherence to plan/WOE. Also, motivated to move into the next 'decade' of weight since I'm less than half a pound away.
Have a great week, FSers!

Losing weight even with some binges, you are doing something right. Congrats!

Thanks, JMB -- certainly doesn't feel like I'm doing much right in terms of food intake -- another week of "I'll behave this time" and instead the misbehavior just gets more 'extreme.' Feels more like 'flirting with disaster' and that the scale is playing nasty tricks (even though I use the same scale and weigh under the 'same conditions' each week) . . . I fear if I keep (inadvertently) pushing the envelope that I will spontaneously balloon up and out like Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka! :) But, the support from this community and the accountability will hopefully prevent that from happening . . . good luck to us both as we continue to 'navigate' the holidays!

Silly woman...you will never become a violet and what part of less is difficult for you to understand! I'm sure it's not coming off as easily or quickly as you might have wanted but you are doing superb! Stop beating yourself up over cheating once in a while because that is obviously a common thing among all of us so there is nothing special in you doing it! You are dedicated and the holidays are a really hard time! Be kind to yourself...you are a daughter of God and he loves you no matter how much you cheated! Do the same thing and love yourself for your intelligence, dedication to your program because continuing to do it is dedication :D

I think a bit of experimentation with bending (or breaking) the rules is maybe just another stage in our education on keeping weight off. How far off plan can we go without ill effects? We need to try it to know!

You are not the only one to fear ballooning out and also testing the limits to see how much the body can take before it reacts :) I have been doing it for the last few months!
