Normally a 1-lb. loss in a week is 'cheer-worthy' . . . NOT leap-up-out-of-your-seats and-wolf-whistle cheers (more like a golf clap), but a decent achievement in the weight-loss 'long game.' HOWEVER, this is no ORDINARY 1-lb. loss -- this pound is LADEN with potential pitfalls that were successfully negotiated, including: business and personal travel that restricted opportunities for exercise and replaced them with opportunities for free booze, high-caloric meals and dessert. This 1-lb. represents a glimpse into my 'maintenance' future and assures me that -- as long as I continue to track, monitor and exercise -- I CAN enjoy food (including the occasional indulgence such as a Ghirardelli caramel turtle brownie) in moderation and not dread how the Idiot Box will 'punish' me with an "I told you so" reading. This is, by far, my favorite pound 'lost' thus far on this journey!!
