ClearLAX (Walmart's "Equate" bargain version of MiraLAX -- polyethylene glycol 3350) -- took three days and two doses, but I feel -- and am! -- lighter now!

I'd suffered from chronic constipation and related bleeding hemorrhoids for most of my life despite adequate hydration. Harsh magnesium-based laxatives that cause GI muscle contractions to clear the bowel (like Phillip's Milk of Magnesia) can foster dependence, and they can be ... uncomfortable.

That remedy is rarely necessary since my GI M.D. recommended PB3350. It's okay to use daily, if necessary, since it works by drawing fluid into the GI tract to soften stool, making it easier to pass.

Getting adequate fiber and fluid is important, but just doin that doesn't work for me.

(Sorry if that's TMI, but I must pay attention to everything, and I do that best when I write it down!)
