LMJ114's Journal, 31 August 2014

Well - I missed my goal by 2 pounds. I had wanted to be 135 by 8/31. August was going to be a hard month, but I thought 135 was realistic even with all the birthdays and other celebrations. I weighted 137 several days mid-week, but I had several glasses of wine and a small dish of ice cream on Friday. Saturday's weigh in was SCARY. Luckily, I am back at 137. Had I not indulged on Friday I am sure I would have hit goal. It's a good reminder to keep disciplined.

So, while the pounds were slightly off, there are two items to celebrate: 1) I am glad for the reminder to stay disciplined. I was getting a bit too comfortable with my success. And, 2) while August did not show much change via the scale, it has showed strong progress in my clothes. Into my size 8s at the beginning of the month, and by months end I am wearing many of my 6s. And the size 10s are Outta Here. Gave them away. Will never need them again.

I will be at 130 by 9/30. No doubt, no hesitation -- just discipline.

I understand what you're going through right now. I'm suffering from a little bit of it myself lately. I haven't officially slacked *yet*, but I've begun contemplating skipping a workout or adding an unnecessary late-night snack simply because I feel like "I can". On the size front, I used to wear a 2X - 3X and now the size 10 skirt I bought for my vacation in June is already too big for me to wear! Being a size 8 when you're a busty 5'7.5" woman is no simple feat! And I'm still scared to donate more of my larger clothes. Maybe donating them will be that extra incentive to keep the weight off for good! To stay motivated and focused, I have a series of videos/documentaries I watch regularly about healthy eating that help keep me on the right course. For me, it's easy to forget the reasons why I made those changes when it's been a while since I've delved a little deeper into my nutrition education. I'm sure you'll reach your goal sooner than you think!

It's summer eating and activities move around, Sept/Oct we are back to our regular routines. For years I've had cloths in the closet for those up and down times. I'm with you once I change sizes out they go.

Alcohol can be hard to manage while losing weight. I gave up drinking about a year ago in my effort to lose 100 pounds. I hardly miss it. I tried to drink once on my birthday, but it hit me so hard, I could only have about 3 sips before I felt loaded. The longer you wait between drinks, the stronger you feel it. Good luck with your continued success!

Congratulations on the size 6 that is something to be proud of. So you didn't hit 135 oh well you will definitely hit 130 by the end of September, so keep up the hard work :)
